"Typical Barossa Cabernet. Easy to like."
Lloyd Heinrich
Ol' Barossa Cabernet is an oft-forgotten beast, and Grant Burge's Cameron Vale is about as classic as they come.
You want big choc berry mint flavours and plenty o' tannins? Well this wine will be your bag. It's deep, it's dark, it's absolutely drenched with flavour.
Expert Reviews
Full crimson-purple; attractive perfume of cassis, mint-chocolate, lavender and woodsy spices that continue onto the palate. It's rather restrained and very fresh although the tannins are not quite resolved.'

How's it taste?
This full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon is purple in colour with lively aromas of dark chocolate, blackberry, vanilla and cedar. The palate is rich and full with black and red berry fruit dominating the front palate with hints of vanilla accompanying the ripe and firm tannins on the long finish. This bold style Cabernet is drinking well now, however with careful cellaring, this wine will develop further characters for up to 15 years. The rich, complex and supple characters of this wine are a delicious match to roast lamb, lamb chops or braised beef.
How was it made?
After crushing and de-stemming, the juice was fermented on skins for eight to 10 days, with selected parcels of the fruit remaining on skins for up to 30 days post fermentation. This process has allowed maximum flavour and tannin extraction and added structure and texture to this wine. Post fermentation, parcels of the wine was transferred to French oak (34% new) for 20 months' maturation.
Who made it?
Family owned and drawing on five generations of history in the famed Barossa Valley, Grant Burge wines is a bastion of well made, value for money wines. Drawing on depth of experience in the region, Grant Burge and his wife Helen established the brand in 1988 and have developed a formidable range of wines across a broad spectrum of price points. The history of the Burge family and their long association with winemaking in the region can be traced back to March 1855, when noted tailor John Burge immigrated to the Barossa from Hillcot, near Pewsey in Wiltshire, England with his wife Eliza and their two sons. John worked as a winemaker at Hillside Vineyards and his love of viticulture was passed onto his son Meshach, who continued the tradition making his first wine in 1865, while becoming a prominent community leader. Meshach married Emma in 1883 and they had eight children. First-born Percival established the Wilsford Winery near Lyndoch in 1928. Percival had two sons, Noel and Colin, and Colin and his wife Nancy had one son, Grant. Following in the footsteps of his father and forefathers before him, Grant carried the winemaking tradition into the 21st century. Grant Burge Wines came under the ownership of the Accolade Wines' family of brands in 2015. Since then, the winery has flourished both nationally and internationally.
