Expert Reviews

98 Points - James Halliday - Halliday's Wine CompanionEstate-grown cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc, the certified organic vines 33yo. A breath of fresh air, pulling my lip up and out of the Dante's inferno of other wines in this particular tasting. Supple and immaculately balanced, every flavour, texture and beautifully nuanced fruits that are 100% within the varietal makeup, the tannins almost lustrous, so fine are they.
95 Points - James SucklingThis has a very bold, ripe, rich and assertive feel to it. A powerful blend of cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc that is strapped on for the long haul. The nose has cedary red currants, cassis and red plums, leading to a long and suave frame of tannins. It delivers a sleeve of summer-berry flavors in a seamless form. Great wine. Best from 2021.
95 Points - Campbell Mattinson - The Wine FrontIt’s a medium weight wine with class written all over it. The flavours run on strict, straight lines and as it turns out, that’s a very good thing. Boysenberry, leather, plum and fresh blackcurrant flavours are served with overtones of pencil/milk chocolate and bay leaves. Tannin is as fine-grained as can be. Tobacco-like, undergrowthy characters add yet more to the offering. It’s not a thumper; it’s just long, pure and complex.
95 Points - Mike Bennie - Wine Business MagazineA tour de force of elegance and poise, offering deep concentration, finesse of tannin, exceptional length of flavour and a cool restraint. A Cassis, garrigue and faint cedar mesh well in the bouquet while the palate echoes cassis through its long draw across the palate. Ultra fine Cabernet here, and a charming drinking experience ensues.
93 Points - Huon Hooke - The Real ReviewDeep red/purple, bright and youthful colour, with a fresh, bright cassis nose and palate; medium-bodied and elegantly-styled, with a hint of mixed spice. It's elegant and middle-weight, balanced to be accessible young but will surely age very well. There is a trace of star anise. A harmonious medium-bodied cabernet with a touch of class.
