To think that you can pick up an epic old vine Grenache, from one of the country's best producers, for under $50? It defies belief that such a stunning is available for a comparatively low price, but such is life for Grenache.
Needless to say this is beautifully expressive, high tones and frankly delicious Grenache at a great price.

Planted in 1946 on a sand dune in the cooler, elevated northeast of McLaren Vale. Hand-picked and sorted in the winery, the fermentation is wild. It is a glorious example of grenache picked earlier than in the past, retaining all the freshness of red cherries/berries, spices starting to build, tannins beautifully shaped.'
A very succinct and smoothly delivered style that has a wealth of blueberries and raspberries and a crisp, forthright frame of tannin that speaks to the old vines and the superior site at work here. Bold finish.

How's it taste?
Produced exclusively from our Estate bush vines planted in 1946, high on our Estate’s deep sandy soils. Our Old Vine Grenache is complex, perfumed and elegant with a trademark tannin structure.
How was it made?
The grapes were hand-picked, destemmed and mechanically sorted. 50% whole berries. The berries were then tipped in to open fermenters, cold-soaked for 5-6 days and underwent wild yeast fermentation. No pressings were used. The wine in barrel was kept on lees in older French oak for 10 months. Not fined. Certified Organic/Biodynamic.
