A powerful bouquet - lemons attacking from one angle with a pine-lime second wave. There's an attractive sulfide note here that's more often found in chardonnay. A roundness too. Oak adds seriousness and softness. This is quite delicious. A benchmark style
Stamped with class. The texture, the intensity of flavour, the acceleration of the finish. Indeed it's difficult - and pointless - to single out individual flavours because it all seems so unified. It's an excellent white wine from all angles, elegance included.
Bright, fresh and racy; faintly herbal notes of gooseberries, lychees and passionfruit with a hint of creamy vanilla oak; juicy and vivacious; briny finish.
Blend of Margaret River sauvignon blanc and semillon. Likely some oak in the nix too. Excellent intensity of flavour and with the texture to match. It’s not over the top but this has some power to it, or perhaps impact is a better word. At only 12.5% alcohol/vol too. Long finish. Fresh and crisp. Bang on.
A deliciously refreshing wine with a long harmonious palate and great flavour. Accents of snowpea, lemon, lime zest and white nectarine, with pleasing background savouriness from a little oak fermentation. A seriously good, flavoursome wine. Top value

How's it taste?
Pale straw in appearance. The pungent perfume opens with a note of Lantana Bush and evolves to reveal hints of tropical Thailand with subtle lemongrass, paw paw, lychee and chilli. The Sauvignon Blanc fruit provides the underlying tone of blackcurrant, while yeast complexities conjure notes of bread crust and baked savoury pie. A softer palate than the pungent perfume would suggest. Plush and juicy with a long full texture, revealing a light and tangy Tahitian lime and yoghurt finish.
How was it made?
Refined winemaking techniques have better developed the exciting complexities built into the powerful, aromatic and structured fruit of Sauvignon Blanc, which is complimented by the tempering delicacy of our best parcels of Semillon. The small portion of Sauvignon Blanc fermented entirely on skins has helped to broaden the palate, while the use of new French Oak has brought spice to the aroma and tannin texture to the palate. A greater step toward wild fermentation this year has resulted in a better expression of our true vineyard character, giving the wine a more savoury and solid core.
Who made it?
Vasse Felix was the first vineyard and winery to be established in Western Australia’s Margaret River region. Established in 1967 by Dr Tom Cullity, it is situated in the Willyabrup sub region where ancient soils and cooling Southern and Indian Ocean breezes provide ideal conditions for fine wine production. Vasse Felix is owned and operated by the Holmes a Court family. The Vasse Felix winemaking team shares a common goal in crafting wines of exceptional quality from unique vineyard sites. Under the direction of Chief Winemaker Virginia Willcock, the objective remains the same today as it did 40 years ago. A precise understanding of local viticulture and environment is coupled with a hands on winemaking approach. The Vasse Felix style shows concentration and complexity while retaining signature elegance and finesse. It is a testament to winemaking and viticultural dedication and attention to detail throughout the year. The revered Vasse Felix Heytesbury wines are produced in limited quantities from a barrel selection of the finest fruit parcels each vintage. Vasse Felix continues to be one of the most highly awarded and visited wineries in Australia.
