Sarah Linhart

"Minty, tea and red fruits. Nicely balanced with good concentration. Good value."

Sarah Linhart

Wines like this remind just how good Barossa Shiraz Cabernet blends can be!

From the Burge family (Trent Burge, son of Grant, in particular), this red blend is as full bodied as you'd expect from the Barossa - a big chunky red flowing with juicy black and red fruits.

Power and depth at an exceptional price.

Expert Reviews

94 Points - Sam Kim - Wine OrbitIt is sweetly fragrant on the nose showing dark fruit intensity together with vanilla, cake spice, olive and cedar nuances. The palate delivers terrific fruit weight and succulent mouthfeel, wonderfully complemented by silky texture and chalky tannins. Superbly expressive and highly enjoyable. At its best: now to 2024.

How's it taste?

Shiraz Cabernet is an iconic Australian blend and this wine is an excellent example. Crafted exclusively by the Burge family, this wine displays lifted aromas of red and black fruit. The palate is one of richness and depth with good fruit concentration and structure. A fine Barossa blend that ticks all the boxes, quality, value and, most importantly, delicious to drink.

How was it made?

Lawley Farm is a Barossa vineyard owned and managed by the 6th generation of the Burge family, that produces exceptional fruit year on year. With a vibrant plum red colour this wine exhibits aromas of raspberry, plum and chocolate with a hint of sweet spice. the palate is bright and lively, dominated by intense raspberry fruit flavours balanced by silky chocolate characters. The understated oak creates long and fine tannins and allows for a well balanced and vibrant wine.

Who made it?

There’s no better way to get to the top of your field than to learn from the best and when your dad is Grant Burge, you’ve got a pretty good start. And boy, has Trent Burge made the most of that start. Stepping out of his father’s shadow, Trent is now rightly considered one of the Barossa’s best young winemakers in his own right. A hands on winemaker who has learned his craft from the ground up, Trent is the man behind ‘Family Wine Estates’ and we couldn’t be more excited to be working with him.
