A brand new Clare Riesling to hit the scene and it's a delight. An intense and limey experience of pure fruit, with a beautifully cleansing citrussy palate. No wonder it has such glowing reviews.
Expert Reviews
Fruit from the family property at Sevenhill. A gold medal winner. Bath salts, lime juice, perfumed white flowers - classic young Clare Valley riesling aromas jumping out of the glass here. Strung taut along the palate, the flavours are very pure, quite juicy and mouthfilling, but constrained within the tight structure. Lemon pith acidity runs long and lingers through the finish.
Very light colour with a restrained, dried floral and dried herb fragrance. The wine is intense and fresh, lively and crisp, with great line and precision. It's very dry and bracing in its acidity. Excellent wine.'
Here's a tight and tangy little number. It's all bath salts and tart lemon/lime, quite tense and edgy, but with a purity of fruit, along with chalky texture and some citrus rind on the finish. It needs a year or two to settle, unless you drink it with something like salt and pepper squid.'
A fabulous wine with ripe citrus fruits with honeysuckle tones. The palate is pure, intense and assertive and laden with juicy fruit

How's it taste?
The 2018 Naked Run Riesling ‘The First’ is pale yellow straw in colour with green tints. It displays delicate floral, perfume and bath salt aromas. The palate is dominated by lemon and limes with a steely acid backbone which will allow this wine, any vintage to age elegantly for many years to come.
How was it made?
The Naked Run Clare Valley Riesling was named ‘The First’ as it is the first wine produced under the Naked Run Label. Made from 100% Clare Valley free run juice, the fruit is sourced from a single vineyard located at Sevenhill in the heart of the Clare Valley. The vineyard is situated 475 metres above sea level, a relatively cool site for the region. The vines are grown on red-grey loam over sandstone and slate/shale subsoil which produces minerality within the wine.
The fruit is machine harvested at night when the fruit was at its coolest, and processed as quickly as possible to minimise skin contact. It is pressed, cold settled for 3 days then racked for fermentation. The wine is fermented around 15oC until dry then stabilized, left on yeast lees for 3 months, followed by filtering and bottling.

When people ask me what my favourite wine is I say “Riesling!” then I follow up with “Shiraz, Cabernet, Champagne ohhh and Pinot Noir!”. Basically, if it tastes delicious I’m here for it, regardless of the varietal. Here are a few vino’s I’ve enjoyed recently, check them out:
